Start Sailing Intro

A safe and enjoyable introduction to dinghy sailing

Intro Details

Perfect for those testing the waters. This is a short introduction to sailing. A taste of sailing for those thinking about participating in the Adult Learn to Sail Program. The goal of this program is to get participants comfortable in small boats and introduce basic sailing concepts. This is the perfect taster for the Start Sailing 1/2 program.

Length of Course

The try sailing experience runs for 3 hours on a Saturday morning.

Pre-Requisites

Water Confident.

What to Bring

DSC will provide participants with life jackets and boats. We have toilets and change rooms, and water fountains.

However there are a few things you will need to bring with you to ensure safety and fun on the water:

  • Close-toed shoes (no thongs)
  • Hat
  • Water bottle
  • Sunscreen
  • Stinger suit or leggings (Box jellyfish are still present in the water so some form of protection is recommended)
