A safe and enjoyable introduction to keelboat sailing in our brand new Eliott 7s

Course Details

The first step on the Keelboat pathway introduces you to the basics of sailing on a small boat, developing both your theory and practical skills. This program is ideal for anyone wanting to learn the basic fundamentals of sailing, without going swimming!

Classes are conducted by friendly qualified keelboat instructors in our Elliott 7 Keel Boats.

This beginner’s course teaches the basics of sailing including boat handling, safety and sailing theory. Upon completion of the course, participants will understand how to control and manipulate the different parts of the boat in order to create power and momentum across the water. You will learn how to “tack” & “gybe”, trim the “mainsail” & “jib” and learn how the sails can actually steer the boat! The course also introduces other essential areas including weather, tides, knots and general safety procedures.

This is a 12 hour course run across 3 Saturdays.
