Club Bosun Wanted

Club Bosun Wanted

DSC is seeking a part time bosun. Duties will include maintenance and preparation of the club’s fleet of safety, race management and training vessels. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated practical ability and knowledge of small sailing and power vessels. The ability to complete tasks efficiently and with minimal supervision is required.

The role will be measured against the following KPI’s

  • Vessels prepared for use by volunteers, members, staff and trainees in a timely, safe manner and to a high standard
  • Planned servicing and maintenance completed to maximise vessel availability
  • Repairs conducted to a high standard and to ensure the Club’s on water programs are conducted without delay or interruption

Remuneration will be in line with award conditions. It is anticipated the role will average 10 hours per week, with a higher work load during the busy regatta and training period, in June and July.

There is a genuine opportunity to successfully recruit this important position from within the Club Member ranks. For this reason, the position will be advertised internally before advertising the position through usual employment channels.

Members interested in this position are encouraged to send through a covering letter and resume to [email protected] briefly outlining how you feel you are a match for this role.

Please also include 3 current professional references with your letter.
