Darwin Sailing Club welcomes Defence Force Families to Darwin!

Last Saturday (Feb 10) ADF members and their families were invited to join DCO and command for a morning of fun and information sharing at the Darwin Convention Centre.

The Annual expo showcases a range of community groups, government services as well as several Territory sporting and hobby groups to give ADF newcomers a slice of Territory Life. And of course, to mingle with a few smiling territorians!

Commodore Peter Lockett, his wife (and Social Committee rep) Avenal, Vice Commodore John Hardy and Junior member, smooth talking Kyle Bonney manned the DSC stand for the morning shift. The morning team was backed up for the second half by Nick, Aden and William McGrath along with Sailing Manager Ed Vincent.

Special thanks also to Di Elson for securing the stall for the DSC.

Past, present and future sailors (and all potential sundowners!) were given information about membership and to sail programs, regaled with tales from the Club and even given sailing demonstrations (Nice work Aden!) by the crew on hand.

A big thank you to all those who came together to allow the DSC to participate in the expo.

It would appear that 2018 is off to a flier!

Kind Regards,

John Melenewycz

General Manager.
