Had Enough of Cyclone Clean-Up?

Discover Sailing Day is here again, on Saturday 14th April.

Volunteers needed for the biggest promotion day of the year for Darwin Sailing Club, the day where we showcase our sport, our club and our membership. In previous years this has proven highly successful in increasing membership and selling sailing courses, essential elements in growing the club and the sport of sailing in Darwin.

If your able to help out on the 14th your assistance would be much appreciated. This event requires a minimum of 60 staff and club members in a variety of land and on water based roles to run safely and effectively, including greeting visitors, fitting life jackets, driving rescue boats, answering questions about membership and courses, looking after valuables, running drinks and food and taking punters for a sail. Bring your own boat or take someone for a sail on a club boat.

Having done this a number of times we know that planning is key to having a safe and enjoyable day. There is not sufficient time on the day to brief volunteers and staff of their role so we ask you to attend a short briefing on Thursday 12th after badge draw (7:15pm). This ensures you know what to do where and when, who you will be working with, what resources will be available to you.

Please contact me if your available to volunteer.

Kind Regards,

Simon Cruickshank
