News from the Darwin Sailing Club
Sail, socalise and dine in the heart of Darwin
Thinking of where to go this Easter? ….. why not bring your tent or camper van, family, friends and yacht (or any boat really) down to Lake Argyle for an informal fun regatta and to explore this magnificent man-made lake in the middle of Australia.
If you haven’t been there before it’s definitely something to add to your ‘bucket-list’.
The regatta originated many years ago and revitalised by DSC members in 2013. This informal regatta is now scheduled every second year as a racing/social shake-down as a prelude to the DSC Race Season. Each year there have been a number of yachts and families participating. Largest fleet in 2014 had approx.. 25 people and 7-8 yachts participating.
The drive is through some of the most scenic in Australia and is approx. 7-8 hours in total, but well worth it. Many people take an additional day or two to enjoy the place a little longer.
We are also enthusing other local clubs to participate and already have some interest from Kununurra and Broome Sailing Clubs.
A group booking has already been made at the Lake Argyle Caravan & Camping Park
