Membership and fee structure changes at Darwin Sailing Club

Dear valued Member. At the Club’s August QGM, 3 motions where upheld surrounding the potential re-structuring of DSC Membership from 2017. A commitment was given by the Management Committee at the meeting to present to members a detailed proposal of the specific intended changes to the Club’s Constitution and also to its 2017 Fee structure. To that end, please find attached 3 documents.

  1. The first is an itemised fact sheet which lists each of the proposed changes to the Constitution as well as a proposed 2017 Membership Price List. Read it here
  2. The second is a presentation which has been prepared to assist in explaining the drivers behind the proposed changes. Read it here.
  3. Finally, a Draft Constitution which reflects the proposed changes. Read it here.

This information will be presented to members in 3 x 45 minute information sessions which all are welcome to attend. Each session will be identical and these sessions will be held on the next 3 Thursday nights:

  1. Thursday, 29th September – 18:00
  2. Thursday, 6th October – 18:00
  3. Thursday, 13th October – 18:00

Members of the Management Committee will be on hand to answer questions members may have. Importantly also, they will be on hand to ensure that any feedback offered in relation to these matters can be duly noted for consideration by the MC in refining these drafts into final motions which, in turn, can be put to a vote at the upcoming AGM on November 22nd.

hose unable to attend one of these sessions are encouraged to submit any written feedback they may have to the Club Secretary ([email protected]). In order that all comments can be considered within the allowable timeframe, members are kindly requested to submit written feedback strictly before 5pm on Monday October 17th.

Kind Regards,

John Melenewycz
General Manager
