The Darwin Sailing Club’s sailing program continues to operate with the enthusiasm and commitment of volunteers. The ability to continue to deliver a first class and diverse sailing program depends very much on the assistance and support of these volunteers.
Join the Race Officials Team
If you are in-between boats or just looking for an excuse to get onto the water, we have the perfect opportunity for you. Spend a free afternoon or evening on Fannie Bay, in good company, while performing a highly valued Club service. Our sailing office would love to hear from you. Volunteers are always needed and always welcome to assist with the successful implementation of the Club’s varied on water programs.
Any level of experience is welcomed, whether a beginner or a World Sailing International Race Officer; a willingness to be part of a team and provide superb on-water management of races is all that is required.
Various roles are required on a weekly basis:
Committee vessel boat driver - Mary Woodrow
Mark layer / Safety boat
Darwin Sailing Club is dedicated to mentoring and providing continuous training opportunities for all its Race Officials. Take the theory of the AS Race Officials Course and apply this to on-water practice. There are also opportunities for accreditation as judges and umpires.
